Cara's music is famous for her messages of love, self-love and mental health. The inspiration for her music is her own personal experience as she struggled with mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, the album has been described as turbulent and yet perfectly crafted. She found growth through therapy and she encourages others to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician, was born in Canada on the 11th of July, 1996 to Italian parentage. She was given a guitar by her parents when she became a teenager and it sparked her passion for the music. She began singing covers of songs that she liked at the age of 13 in order to show that world that she had the abilities and determination required to become a professional singer. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her famous. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to compose and write her own songs.
